We are excited to announce the second season of The Moseley Memorial Music Series, a concert and organ recital series established in 2014 in memory of John Moseley, St. Thomas’ first Organist and Choirmaster. We seek to provide a cultural focus in Southwest Houston and beyond, to support emerging and established musicians, and to attract new people to St. Thomas’ through music.
After a very successful inaugural season, our plans are complete for the second full season of performances. Twenty events are scheduled from September 2015 through July 2016, including the Rising Stars’ Concert as part American Guild of Organists’ 2016 National Convention to be held in Houston. Our organ recitals are on Second Sundays @ 6, opening with Nigel Potts and Sarah Rose Taylor’s Elgar Sea Pictures & Wagner Transcriptions on Sunday, September 13 at 6 pm. Our concerts are on Third Sundays @ 6, opening with the Houston Children’s Chorus on Sunday, September 20 at 6 pm.
Concert tickets are $20 adult, $15 senior, $5 college student, and under 18 Free. Organ recitals are free, with suggested donations of $20 adult, $15 senior, and $5 college student.
Following on the success of last season’s concerts and recitals, we are excited to be able to welcome outstanding artists both from within Houston and further afield to perform at St. Thomas’.
