New Associate Rector and School Chaplain

Geoff SimpsonI am absolutely delighted to announce that The Rev. Geoff Simpson has accepted a call to St. Thomas’. Mr. Simpson will serve as Associate Rector-Chaplain of the School. During the week, he will be working exclusively with the preschool and school, helping us further our mission while providing pastoral care and support to that mission community. He will also serve at church on Sundays so you will all have a great opportunity to get to know him.

Geoff comes to us from Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Paoli, PA where he was Associate Rector-Missions and Outreach. He has a powerful calling for ministry to children and youth, which brings him to us in Texas! He served for 15 years as a boarding school chaplain in Virginia and has extensive experience in youth ministry. He was active in F.O.C.U.S., an Evangelical ministry to independent school students in the Northeast. He has also been involved in numerous ministry and short-term summer mission opportunities, domestic and foreign.

Geoff is a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, CT and Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, PA. He also attended the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics in England. He is an avid guitar player, singer-songwriter and frequent open mic performer. Geoff also has a lot of experience in traditional worship settings, having been a chorister at the Choir School of St. Thomas Church in New York City. He enjoys bicycling, photography and travel.

Geoff’s first day with us at St. Thomas’ will be July 1st. Please join me in welcoming Geoff and giving thanks to God for sending him to us!
