Scouts Earn Religious Emblems at Saint Thomas’

Chad with ScoutsOn Sunday, June 2, 2013, Saint Thomas’ recognized members of Cub Scout Pack 1226 and Boy Scout Troop 1226 for special projects. Father Chad Martin, Director of Family Ministries, distributed Religious Emblems to thirteen Scouts during the 10:30a.m. service. Eight boys earned the “God and Me Religious Award” and five earned the “God and Family Religious Award.” Developed through the P.R.A.Y. Program and the Boy Scouts of America, these awards are designed “to encourage youth to learn about their faith”. The Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the emblems to be worn on the official uniform.  Father Martin taught the Religious Award classes for these Scouts over a 6 week period.  This is an important award to earn in the journey towards Eagle Scout.

In addition to sponsoring a Cub Scout troop, Saint Thomas’ sponsors a Boy Scout Troop and numerous Girl Scout Troops.
