Oblation Bearers and Lamp Bearers

Oblation Bearers are responsible for processing the oblations (the bread and wine to be offered for consecration) to the altar during the Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion). They also represent the entire congregation in which we offer our lives to God as a “reasonable, holy, and living sacrifice.” Young women who have been confirmed (6th-12th grade) are invited to take part in this ministry.

Lamp Bearers

Lamp Bearers add to the majesty of our service and, through the carrying of lamps, serve as a reminder that like the wise bridesmaids (Matthew 25:1-13), we should “be ready” for when the Lord returns, both at the end of time and as he appears among us in moments of grace and opportunities to serve. Young women ages 8-12 are invited to take part in this special ministry.
