Diocesan Adult Choral Festival

St. Thomas’ hosts this year’s Diocesan Adult Choral Festival, featuring singers from all over the Diocese of Texas.

Location: St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood St., Houston, TX US 77096-1505
This year’s conductor will be The Rev. William Bradley Roberts of Virginia Theological Seminary. He will lead the combined choirs in rehearsal for the Festival Service on Sunday at 6 PM. All are welcome to register and sing.
Saturday, October 22
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Rehearsal at St. Thomas for choristers in the Houston area
Sunday, October 23
9:00 a.m. Rehearsal at St. Thomas for those desiring to sing at the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist
3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Rehearsal for all Festival participants
5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Break and Vesting Snacks provided.
6:00 p.m. Festival Service (free and open to the Public), Followed by Reception for all

William Bradley Roberts is currently Professor of Church Music at Virginia Theological Seminary and Director of Chapel Music.
He received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Houston Baptist University with double majors in Voice and Music Education. He received the degrees Master of Church Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from Southern Seminary (Louisville, Ky.) with an emphasis in Conducting and Voice.
Prior to his work at Virginia Seminary (VTS), he was an Episcopal church musician for thirty-three years, the most recent position being St. John’s, Lafayette Square, Washington, D.C. Before St. John’s, he held similar posts in Tucson, Arizona; Newport Beach, California; Louisville, Kentucky; and Houston, Texas.
Active as a leader at conferences and workshops, Roberts has made presentations in the dioceses of Washington, Dallas, East Carolina, Los Angeles, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, Southern Virginia, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia and Western New York.
