Memorial Evensong for the 15th Anniversary of 9/11

A Solemn Service of Choral Evensong at 4 pm on September 11 in remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy 15 years ago. This Remembrance is sponsored by the James Hardage Lane I chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Moseley Memorial Music Series. Music by St. Thomas’ Parish Choir and the St. Thomas’ Episcopal Pipe Band. We welcome in particular all first responders, veterans and Boy  and Girl Scouts. A reception in the courtyard follows the service.

Music includes:

  • Introit: How Lovely are the Messengers by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)
  • Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in G by Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924)
  • Anthem: Benedictus in B flat by Stanford
  • Bist du bei mir by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
  • The Lord Bless You and Keep You by Giles Brightwell (b. 1970)
