The Gift of Sight

January is National Eye Care Month and St. Thomas’ parishioners and school families donate used eye glasses, sunglasses, frames, lenses –all things related to vision–for distribution to people in America and around the world who need the Gift of Sight.

We send the collected glasses first to the local alumni chapter of the sorority Sigma Kappa which forwards them to the Bell Telephone Pioneers for processing; they send the processed eyeglasses to the Lions Club. The Lions distribute them during their mission trips across the United States and the world to people who otherwise would never be able to afford a pair of glasses.

From now through the end of January 2013, you may place your donations in a box in the Narthex or in the Church office.
