Liturgical music at St Thomas’ Episcopal Church ranges from Gregorian chant to compositions from the present day. Classics from the Anglo-American cathedral tradition and music from Continental Europe form the backbone of the choir’s repertory and provide the perfect accompaniment to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer liturgies.
The Parish Choir is an intrinsic part of the life of St Thomas’ Church and sings for 52 Sundays a year in addition to the principal Feast Days of the Church (see below). The Parish Choir comprises 30 members, including nine professional singers who act as section leaders. Membership is open to adults aged eighteen and over. Membership enquiries are welcomed from singers with an ability to read music fluently, blend and match pitch. There is a midweek rehearsal and choir members are encouraged to spend a modest amount of time each week preparing for Sunday rehearsals and services
