Moseley Music Fund
John Moseley c. 1964
Gifts to to John Moseley Ministry of Music Fund make it possible for us offer a greater variety of music than might otherwise be financially possible. We are blessed with an outstanding pipe organ, but there are many opportunities to augment our music with orchestral instrumentalists. We are blessed with fine soloists, but there are times when we want to bring in a soloist for a particular occasion or composition. We want our neighbors and the greater Houston music community to be blessed in hearing our magnificent Schoenstein pipe organ played by outstanding guest artists. The fund allows us to offer concerts, and services such as Choral Evensong.
About John Moseley
The fund is established in memory of John Moseley, long time organist/choirmaster at St. Thomas’. He came to us from the University of Denver in 1958, when our parish was new, and served until his death in 1996. Much of the tradition and vision we enjoy in worship and music to this day is because of the foundation laid by Mr. Moseley. As we seek to build on that foundation, we affirm and thank God for the ministry of John Moseley.
About the Ministry of Music
The Ministry of Music at St. Thomas’ seeks continually to enhance the worship experiences by glorifying God, moving our hearts and challenging our minds. The Christian faith is a singing faith. From the earliest times, God’s people have shown their love of God with singing and playing of musical instruments. At St. Thomas’ music plays an integral role in our corporate worship. Our Parish Choir works diligently to prepare and offer our very best in music, always striving for excellence in its presentation. It is our intent to grow musically, spiritually, and in community. We seek to explore new ideas and opportunities as we strive to make our musical offerings grow in service to our church and to our community.
