Prior to his call to the ministry, David worked as an analyst with AmSouth Bank, as an accountant with Browder & Associates, P.C, in Birmingham, Alabama and for Whitaker Container Services in South Carolina. He also served as the Director of Development for U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner, R-Mobile, who was elected to the House of Representatives (R-AL 1st District) from Alabama.
David loves the depth and breadth of traditional Episcopal worship. He describes his worship style as classical, Cranmerian, and traditional with an emphasis on the proclamation of the gospel and the administration of the sacraments of the Church. He believes strongly in incorporation of others into ministry. “I pray for God’s guidance, recognize gifts in my fellow laborers, and seek to place them in ministries most fitting for them.”
David is active in Mockingbird Ministries and serves as a board member. Mockingbird is a national ministry based in Charlottesville, Virginia that seeks to connect the Christian faith with the realities of everyday life in fresh and down-to-earth ways. Their primary methods for this work are publications, conferences and their web log. David serves as the treasurer.
