by Kari Browder We have changed the name of our group from “Bible Study” to “Book Club”. For our first book, we decided on Giddy Up, Eunice, by Sophie Hudson. I was so excited to hear that everyone decided on this one (we all gave options, then discussed and chose together). I’ve been reading Sophie’s blog, listening to her podcast, and reading her books since Edward was born. Her humor and encouragement to women got me through a lot of long nights as a mother to a newborn.
As for what this book is about, here is the description from the Amazon book page:“It’s easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us: differences in age, parenting styles, career goals, or maybe even core beliefs about whether leggings can adequately serve as pants (the struggle is real, y’all). The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it’s high time we step out of our same-age, same-stage silos. Life is so much better that way.” I can’t wait to read more!
Come join us on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm in the library starting September 15th. We’ll begin by discussing the introduction for the first meeting, followed by a different chapter each week. Email email@example.com or contact Eileen Spisak in the church office if you have any questions.
