As part of our on-going series about the work of the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC), we present this letter, translated from Spanish, by an anonymous client whose family received help from CCSC. These stories, written by CCSC volunteers and those they serve, show how CCSC represents our church in serving Houston’s needy on a daily basis. Interested in helping CCSC? Dear Friends of CCSC:
I am very proud to be able to share one of my experiences when I received help from such charismatic people as yourselves.
My children’s summer vacation was approaching, and I was becoming increasingly worried because my husband could not find a job, and our economic situation was really bad. We could not sleep at night, wondering how we were going to feed our five children and pay the bills; and my husband would say, “God will provide.”
Then one day I had the pleasure of meeting Janice R. Robinson, and she told me about CCSC and the programs you had for needy people like us.
Today, I continue to receive help, thanks to you and the constant advice from Jan, who is a very hard-working and charming woman.
Thank you CCSC for putting together a great team who serve the neediest people in our community. “God Bless and Multiply You.”
