The 8:00 am service is always a service of Holy Communion (sometimes called the Eucharist). It is a spoken service without music (except on a few major holidays such as Easter). There is a sermon at this service.
From 9:15 am to 10:15 am, there is small-group Christian Education for all ages. Our nursery also opens at 9:00 for children under the age of 2.
The 10:30 service is Holy Communion on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month, and is Morning Prayer on the 2nd and 5th Sundays. Occasionally, when the 2nd or 5th Sunday falls on a major church holiday, the service will be Holy Communion. Our parish choir leads this service, accompanied by organ and, from time to time, by guest instrumentalists. There is a sermon at this service, and Children’s Church and catechesis for children from age 2 through 6th grade. There is a nursery for children under age 2, and children are always welcome in the service, if parents prefer.
On the second Sunday of each month, our Friars (an adult cooking and fellowship group) serve breakfast from 8:30 am until 10:00 am.
At 6:15 pm, we offer a short service of Evening Prayer, led by one of our clergy or lay worship ministers. This service lasts about 25 minutes.
As St Thomas’ is a traditional parish, you will see many people dressed in their “Sunday best,” but you are welcome no matter how you dress.
Most Wednesdays, we offer Holy Communion at 11:00 am. When school is in session, we offer Evening Prayer at 5:30. Please check our calendar for updated information and special services.
If you have questions, or would like more information, please call our office at (713) 666-3111 or speak with one of our clergy.
